Jamie Murray has brought an end to his illustrious tennis career after 22 years in the professional game.
Murray took to social media to bring an end to a career which brought him to world number one and saw him lift seven Grand Slams.
The Scottish star, who also helped Great Britain in their first Davis Cup title for 79 years, has reverted to a punditry position in recent years.
Back in 2025, the legendary Scotsman named another star as his favourite doubles partner instead of his brother, Andy Murray.
Jamie Murrayâs favourite doubles partner
Speaking on TalkSPORT, Murray was asked for his best-ever doubles partner from his storied tennis career.
In an interview with Nick Kyrgios, Murray immediately responded: â[Martina] Hingis for me was a different level.
âHer level of ability and skill set was crazy. Also, whenever things got close or edgy, she would say âIâm going to do thisâ and she would deliver.â
Hingis won five Grand Slam singles titles in her career, with the earliest coming at the age of 16 at the 1997 Australian Open.
Murray believes her mentality is what made her such a brilliant partner in doubles.
âFor me, that was different; she definitely had the championâs mentality or whatever you want to call it. It was impressive; she made the game look so easy, which all of the great players do, but it was impressive. I was very fortunate to play a couple of tournaments with her before she retired.â
Murray and Hingis won two Grand Slam titles in 2017, at Wimbledon and the US Open, in back-to-back major tournaments.
Jamie Murrayâs Grand Slam doubles partners
Murray reached 13 Grand Slam finals between doubles and mixed doubles, and he enlisted the help of some of the best players in the sport.
John Peers, Bruno Soares, Jelena Jankovic, Liezel Huber, Hingis, Victoria Azarenka, and Bethanie Mattek-Sands all lined up alongside Murray in a major final.
Jamie Murrayâs doubles partners
Soares was the only partner who managed to lift the trophy in a Grand Slam final when it came to standard doubles.
Jamie Murrayâs mixed doubles partners
Murray fared much better in mixed doubles, winning five Grand Slams in his career including two Wimbledon crowns.
Jankovic, Hingis, and Mattek-Sands were all able to win a Grand Slam while partnered alongside the Scotsman.
