👀Match of the day

Zizou Bergs vs Arthur Fery
Last Briton standing, Arthur Fery aims to continue his fairytale run when he walks onto Court 18 for his clash with unseeded Zizou Bergs. If you are wondering whether Bergs is named after the legendary French midfielder, you would be correct. Fery personally requested not to be on one of the bigger courts. Another win today and a match on Centre is inevitable.

🤕 What happened to Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper

The British No 1 withdrew from the tournament late on Sunday after announcing she had a stress fracture in her right shin.

Raducanu indicated her desire to play through the pain against Antonia Ruzic on Monday afternoon, but a scan confirmed her worst fears.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this,” Raducanu wrote in a post on Instagram, “but sadly I’ve had to withdraw from this year’s Wimbledon. I’ve done everything possible to try to get to the start line tomorrow but after a final scan tonight, the niggle I’ve been managing has developed into a stress fracture and I’ve been medically advised to stop pushing through.”

On Monday afternoon, Draper also pulled out of the tournament, citing a recurrence of the arm injury that has plagued him for the past year.

“I am devastated to share that I have had to withdraw from my first-round match because of a recurrence of my arm injury,” he said.

“There have been a lot of painful moments in the last 12 months but this one is definitely the absolute worst as there is no greater honour for a British player than playing at Wimbledon. I will continue to persevere through this. Thank you for the support.”

🎾 Which Britons are playing today

Fery is the sole British singles player today but there are plenty in doubles action (please see above).
