File this Taylor Fritz story under potenial conspiracy theories. Remember at the 2025 US Open when Fritz, a BOSS tennis ambassador, wore his headband wrong. The BOSS logo was backwards.
Now, Fritz wants us to believe that was an intentional wardrobe malfunction tied to breaking news about the 2027 Australian Open.

It started with Fritz’s confusing social media post
A few days ago, Fritz posted that he was up to something with the picture from the US Open.
Fans did not know what to expect. Fritz is currently injured and not playing the European clay court swing. He was also dealing with rampid but false rumors that his longtime relationship with Morgan Riddle had ended.
Since Fritz posted, BOSS was named the official outfitter of the 2027 Australian Open, taking over from Ralph Lauren who outfitted the past six Australian Opens.
So the upside down BOSS headband over six months ago was a sign that BOSS would be the Down Under outfitter for next year’s Australian Open?

If so, Fritz is a good actor. At the time, he expressed confusion and outrage that no one told him about his errant looking headband.
Is Fritz trying to pull one over on his fans with by intentionally wearing his headband wrong last year, or was the wardrobe mishap just a fluke that he is trying to explain away now?

When will we see Fritz play tennis again?
Fans are concerned about Fritz’s health. He has not played since the Miami Open. He withdrew from last week’s Monte Carlo Masters and this week’s Barcelona Open.
The good news is that he is on the players’ list for Roland Garros. However, he will need some clay court match prep to be ready for the year’s second Grand Slam beginning on May 18. When healthy, he has good results on clay earning him the nickname “Claylor.”
