Rory McIlroy might be the leader of The Masters, golfâs most prestigious tournament, but he is also a great ambassador for professional tennis.
With a sizeable lead after 36 holes, McIlroy was asked what he will do in his downtime before teeing off on Saturday.

McIlory plans to watch the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters semifinal matches on Saturday morning. McIlroy believes the intriguing semifinal matchups of Jannik Sinner vs. Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz vs. Valentin Vacherot are must-see television on Saturday morning.
McIlroy is a huge tennis fan
His tennis fandom is well known. He attended last monthâs Miami Open. McIlroy was introduced to tennis while involved in a romantic relationship with Caroline Wozniacki over a decade ago.

Tennis and golf are intertwined
For years, tennis and golf players have supported one another. The sports are similar in some respects. Each requires the athletes to independently perform and problem solve in stressful situations.
Rafael Nadal, a golf fan who has time to play and follow the sport more closely since he retired from tennis, was at The Masters on Friday.
Current top tennis players Casper Ruud, Carlos Alcaraz, and Alexander Zverev golf in their spare time.
McIlroy is right about the Monte Carlo matches
McIlroy knows his tennis, and he is right that the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters has outstanding semifinal matches on Saturday.
While many expect that Sinner and Alcaraz are on a collision course to meet in Sundayâs final, Zverev and Vacherot have played well.
Vacherot, a Monte Carlo native who played college tennis at Texas A&M, was ranked in the 200s last year at this time. He will enter the Top 20 next week. He said that winning his home tournament is more important than winning a Grand Slam, and he is now two matches away from turning that dream into a reality.
