Boys tennis: Litchfield Dragons knock off Delano Tigers 6-1

Apr. 7—DELANO — The Litchfield boys tennis team opened the 2026 season with a 6-1 Wright County Conference victory over the Delano Tigers on Tuesday.

Litchfield swept the doubles and got victories at Nos. 1-3 singles.

There were some close matches. The Dragons’ Tommy Witttrock beat Bobby Schleif 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Max Garbow beat Delano’s Jaimon Kittock 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2 and Andy Wittrock knocked off Zach Quamen 7-6 (7), 7-6 (2) at No. 3.

Litchfield travels to the St. James tournament which begins at 9 a.m. Saturday. Teams competing include Winona Cotter and Fairmont.
