Arizona men’s tennis falls to TCU in Big 12 Tournament final

Arizona men’s tennis’ quest to sweep the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles came up short on Saturday.

The top seed Wildcats fell to two seed TCU 4-0 in the Big 12 Tournament final in Orlando, Fla. Arizona goes into the postseason with a 21-4 record.

TCU jumped out to a 1-0 lead, claiming the doubles point with wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts. Arizona’s pair of Filip Gustafsson and Glib Sekachov won their doubles match 6-3 on the No. 1 court.

TCU then walloped Arizona in singles, winning in straight sets on the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 courts. Sasha Rozin was the only Wildcat to advance to a third set,

TCU entered the week ranked No. 3 in the country. The Horned Frogs lost to Arizona in Tucson last month by a 4-0 score.

No. 9 Arizona will await its seeding for the NCAA Tournament, with the field set to be announced on Monday, April 27.
