Where is former WTA No. 1 Steffi Graf

Before Serena Williams burst on the WTA tennis scene, Steffi Graf was considered the greatest female player of all time.

Her career was short, compared to modern standards. She retired when she was 30 with 900 wins, 107 singles titles including 22 Grand Slams, and gold, silver, and bronze medals from the 1988 and 1992 Olympics. Graf also won the 1988 Golden Slam, consisting of the four Grand Slam singles titles and Olympic gold in singles. As if she had not accomplished enough in that 1988 milestone year, she also won her only Grand Slam doubles title at Wimbledon with Gabriela Sabatini.

Fans know that she married American tennis player Andre Agassi in 2001, but she has lived a relatively quiet life outside of the spotlight since then.

In retirement, Graf relishes her privacy

Agassi and Graf live in Las Vegas. Both their mothers and their siblings live nearby. They maintain close relationships with their adult children, Jaden, 24, and Jazz, 21. Jaden is an aspiring baseball pitcher who admits his mother never misses a game but has adopted a laid-back parenting style through his athletic pursuits.

At 57, she has gotten into pickleball, playing with Agassi to stay fit and at ESPN Pickleball Slams.

Agassi has taken a more public role in tennis in recent years, with broadcasting work on various networks for Grand Slams and as the Laver Cup Captain.

While Graf could do anything she wants in the sport, it is not the path she chooses. She was a child prodigy who worked hard and by her own admission accomplished everything she wanted to in the sport. Graf was usually serious but is still remembered for his unguarded moment at Wimbledon that endeared her even more to fans.

In retirement, Graf happily left behind life has a famous athlete, and the best tennis player in her household, to raise children and enjoy family life outside of the spotlight.
