The biggest fortnight of the year for British tennis will see at least 18 home hopefuls try their luck in the Wimbledon main singles draws.

Here, we take a closer look at the home contenders who secured places without having to go through qualifying.

Katie Boulter, age 29, world ranking 59

Boulter celebrated one of the biggest wins of her career by beating world number two Elena Rybakina to reach the Queen’s semi-finals. She has never been beyond the third round of a grand slam.

Jan Choinski, 30, WR 106

The towering German-born player failed to qualify last year but is back seeking only a second win at grand slam level following a first-round Wimbledon success in 2023.

Harriet Dart, 29, WR 151

The 29-year-old, who has twice made the third round, lifted the Nottingham Open doubles title alongside Maia Lumsden but has managed just one singles win on grass this summer.

Jack Draper, 24, WR 160

Former world number four Draper is being coached by Andy Murray for the grass court season and will be unseeded as he bids to put his career back on track following an injury-ravaged year.

Alicia Dudeney, 23, WR 246

The Wimbledon debutant defeated three-time grand slam quarter-finalist Yulia Putintseva at the Nottingham Open to register a first win against a top-100 ranked opponent.

Jacob Fearnley, 24, WR 152

Fearnley struggled with a series of injuries after rising to the world’s top 50. The Scot is preparing for his third successive Wimbledon after withdrawing from Eastbourne as a precautionary measure.

Arthur Fery, 23, WR 118

Fery recorded the “best result” of his career last week by beating Adrian Mannarino to reach the quarter-finals of Queen’s. He reached round two of Wimbledon in 2025.

Felix Gill, 24, WR 220

Gill will make his grand slam debut as a wild card entrant after winning nine singles and one doubles title on the ITF circuit.

Fran Jones, 25, WR 103

After suffering lingering concussion symptoms earlier this year, Jones defeated Beatriz Haddad Maia at the French Open for her first win at a grand slam tournament.

Jack Pinnington Jones, 23, WR 145

A former top junior, Pinnington Jones, who followed Cameron Norrie and Fearnley in attending Texas Christian University, reached round two on debut last year.

Hannah Klugman, 17, WR 412

The teenager has been granted a wild card as she moves from the junior to senior ranks. She defeated Dart at the Nottingham Open to claim her first WTA Tour win.

Cameron Norrie, 30, WR 29

Norrie – seeded 26th -reached the quarter-finals last summer but has played only one competitive match since a rib injury forced him out of the French Open in May.

Emma Raducanu, 23, WR 32

Raducanu enjoyed a fine run to the final of Queen’s – her best performance at a tour event since winning the 2021 US Open – and is the only British seed in the women’s draw.

Toby Samuel, 23, WR 142

Samuel, who made his grand slam debut as a qualifier at Roland Garros, goes into his maiden Wimbledon buoyed by a first tour-level win at Eastbourne.

Mika Stojsavljevic, 17, WR 276

The big-hitting teenager emphasised her potential with a stunning victory over Australia’s Talia Gibson on her Billie Jean King Cup debut in April and remains a major prospect.

Katie Swan, 27, WR 196

Swan, another of Britain’s wild card entrants, has never qualified for a grand slam outside Wimbledon, where she earned her only main-draw victory in 2018.

Mimi Xu, 18, WR 327

The Swansea-born teenager has had injury issues since a fine breakthrough season in 2025. She returns to the All England Club following a first-round defeat to Raducanu 12 months ago.

Harry Wendelken, 24, WR 203

Wendelken, from Cambridge, will make his grand slam debut on the back of beating two top-100 ranked players to qualify for the main draw at Queen’s.
