Teodora Kostović won the LADIES OPEN Amstetten 2026 (powered by SPORTLAND Niederösterreich) without dropping a set, celebrating the biggest title of her career so far.
The second-seeded Serbian defeated finalist Vivian Wolff 6-4, 6-0, marking the biggest success of her career to date.
Kostović prevails at a decisive moment
The final started evenly. Both players got off to a good start, before Kostović gained a small advantage with an early break. Wolff managed to fight back with a rebreak as the Serbian was already serving for the set, but at the crucial moments, Kostović played more variably and consistently.
With her strong first serve, the 19-year-old repeatedly scored free points and controlled the play from the baseline.
After 48 minutes, she secured the first set 6-4. Wolff’s strength was fading. Before the final, Vivian Wolff had already spent 8 hours and 23 minutes on the court, almost three hours more than Kostović, who had spent 5 hours and 38 minutes. This exhaustion became noticeable in the second set. At 0-3, Wolff took a medical timeout. After already being treated in the semifinals, she now needed the physiotherapist’s help again due to muscular issues in her legs.
Kostović consistently made use of her physical advantages, varied her game with drop shots and longer rallies, and hardly let Wolff back into the match. After just 1 hour and 11 minutes, the Serbian converted her first match point to win 6-4, 6-0.
With the triumph in Amstetten, Kostović wins the second ITF pro singles title of her career and the biggest one so far. At the same time, the 19-year-old enters the top 150 of the world rankings for the first time and will become the new Serbian number 1
Even Vivian Wolff was able to look back on the most successful week of her career despite losing in the final. The American reached the final of an ITF W100 tournament for the first time and caused a lot of excitement in Amstetten with wins over players like Julia Grabher.
Four Match Points Saved: Kučmová and Laboutková Win Doubles Title
Aneta Kučmová and Aneta Laboutková claimed the doubles title at the LADIES OPEN Amstetten after a dramatic 16-14 in the Champions Tiebreak.
The two Czech players triumphed in a high-class final against Ángela Fita and Anna Sisková with 6-1, 1-6, and 16-14 in the Champions Tiebreak.
Kučmová and Laboutková got off to a better start, taking the first set convincingly 6-1. In the second set, however, Fita and Sisková found their rhythm, took control, and leveled the match with an equally clear 6-1 set.
The decision came down to the Champions tiebreak, where the spectators were treated to top-level tennis one last time. Kučmová and Laboutková initially built a 4-0 lead, but Fita and Sisková fought back impressively. In a dramatic final phase, both teams saved a total of four match points from their opponents. It was only on the fifth match point that Kučmová and Laboutková converted 16-14, securing the title.
The doubles final also brought great vibes on the sold-out final day. The packed stands witnessed a thrilling final that only found its winner after a gripping Champions tiebreak, giving the spectators top entertainment to close out the tournament week.
