Tennis Channel to release two short documentaries executive produced by Coco Gauff

At just 22 years old, Coco Gauff already has two grand slam titles under her belt. And now, she’s going to add two more titles to her portfolio: a pair of documentary films.

Tennis Channel recently announced two short documentaries that it will debut ahead of the upcoming US Open: Serve: Fashion & Tennis and The Zina Effect. Both are being executive produced by Coco Gauff and her company, iROC Media Group, alongside Tennis Channel, and will live under the network’s Tennis Story franchise. Both documentaries will be available to stream on Tennis Channel on Aug. 24.

“Serve: Fashion & Tennis explores the history of how fashion became tennis’s most exciting battleground for self-expression, power, and change,” the network’s release reads, while The Zina Effect “is an intimate portrait of Zina Garrison, the trailblazing American tennis champion and a personal hero of Gauff’s.”

The pair of films marks Gauff’s directorial debut, and both touch on subjects that are dear to the American star. Serve: Fashion & Tennis will feature looks from tennis stars like Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka, both of whom are shown in the trailer. Gauff herself is also known for her on-court fashion, sporting active partnerships with New Balance and the Italian boutique Miu Miu.

The Zina Effect tackles a more serious topic and follows Garrison, a pioneering Black tennis star who finished runner-up at Wimbledon in 1990, as she returns to her community to invest in the next generation of young athletes.

After Gauff’s films debut, Tennis Story will release four additional short documentaries throughout the year. One will showcase “drug kingpin Rick Ross,” another will follow WTA pro Daria Kasatkina, one will center on USTA CEO Craig Tiley, and the fourth will feature the rise of pickleball.
