Serena surprisingly comments on Carlos Alcaraz social media post

If you had on your Wimbledon bingo card a Serena comment on a Carlos Alcaraz social media post, congratulations.

Carlos Alcaraz, who the tennis world is missing as he continues to recover from his wrist injury, posted a photo of himself with a racquet in hand.

We do not know exactly when this photo was taken, or how long it will be until we see Alcaraz again on a tennis court. Crossing our fingers that it happens sometime in the next month, but no one knows. There is growing speculation that if he is not further advanced than these photos, he may miss the rest of the 2026 season.

Naturally that sent the internet into a tailspin. Some theorized that Alcaraz and Serena could play US Open mixed doubles.

We should put the brakes on that amazing idea given the fact that both are dealing with injuries.

A US Open with Serena and Alcaraz would be a dream

The tennis gods will have to be working overtime to deliver a US Open with both Serena and Alcaraz in the players’ draws.

Serena has a knee injury and Alcaraz’s aforementioned wrist injury are big concerns.

The US Open begins on August 24.
