Roger Federer, Mary Carillo to be inducted into International Tennis Hall of Fame

The International Tennis Hall of Fame will induct its 2026 class on Aug. 29 in Newport, Rhode Island.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer and sports broadcaster Mary Carillo are joining a distinguished group of members which already includes Arthur Ashe, Steffi Graff, John McEnroe and Maria Sharapova.

Approximately 30 Hall of Famers will attend Carillo’s and Federer’s induction celebration, which takes place the day before U.S. Open main draw play begins Aug. 30 in Flushing, New York.

Roger Federer’s Hall of Fame career

Roger Federer is a global tennis icon. Before he retired in 2022, the Switzerland native spent 310 weeks ranked No. 1 and won 103 ATP singles titles in his career, including 20 major titles. His eight Wimbledon championships are the most by a men’s player.

Federer was 21 when he won his first Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon in 2003. He remained a dominant force in men’s tennis for the next two decades, most frequently battling Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in a three-way rivalry that came to be called the “Big Three.”

Mary Carillo’s Hall of Fame career

A former professional tennis player who won a Wimbledon mixed doubles title alongside John McEnroe, Carillo made her name as a sportscaster after an accidental foray into broadcasting. In 46 years as a broadcaster, she’s worked for CBS, ESPN, HBO, NBC, Turner Sports and Tennis Channel covering not only elite tennis, but also 17 Olympic Games.

How to watch the International Tennis Hall of Fame induction ceremony

The International Tennis Hall of Fame induction ceremony will air exclusively on Tennis Channel in the United States, with coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 29. Tennis Channel analyst Brett Haber and FOX Sports’ Tom Rinaldi are the hosts.

The ceremony is also available to watch on international broadcast networks in the following countries:

• Sky Sports, NOW TV (United Kingdom)
• beIN SPORTS (France)
• Stan Sport (Australia)
• SuperTennis TV (Italy)
• BB Tennis (Russia and Belarus)
