Jannik Sinner Embraces His Parents After Italian Open Victory
Sinner has offered fans a behind-the-scenes look at his triumphant campaign in Rome, chronicling his journey on his YouTube channel. During the video, he acknowledged that the pressure surrounding his campaign was immense but said that the rare experience of having his family by his side made it far easier.
“The pressure is more high but at the same time, I just try to focus on myself. Family is here also, mom and dad and brother, and this makes life a little bit easier because I don’t see them usually a lot,” he said.
After claiming a 6-4, 6-4 win over Casper Ruud in the final, the world No. 1 headed off to celebrate the triumph with his parents, his brother Mark, his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic, and his coaching team, all of whom had cheered him on from the stands.
Among the emotional scenes from the festivities, the moments that stood out were the touching embraces Sinner shared with his mother, Siglinde, and his father, Hanspeter.
The Italian then delivered a heartfelt speech, reflecting on the significance of his achievement while expressing gratitude for the unwavering support of his loved ones. He also acknowledged the importance of his upcoming Roland Garros campaign.
“Back in 2019, first time I played here. We won one match there and I would never have thought I could ever be in the position where I am. 7 years later, in this place, we achieved the Golden Masters, winning all nine. But without you, this would not be possible, so thank you to be part of this. Now I’m happy to enjoy a couple of days because then there is another really important tournament for us coming up but in any case how that goes, it has been a hell of a year until now. Thank you for your support,” he said.
