‘I don’t really like you’ – Alexander Zverev has Wimbledon crowd in stitches with Jannik Sinner joke

Alexander Zverev made Jannik Sinner and everyone inside Centre Court laugh after the 2026 Wimbledon final.

Sinner won his second consecutive Wimbledon title with a 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Zverev on Sunday afternoon.

Having won the first set, Zverev’s play gradually declined throughout the match, and he had no answer for the world number one.

The German’s head-to-head record against Sinner is now even more one-sided, which he joked about in his post-match interview.

Jannik Sinner has won 10 of his 14 matches against Alexander Zverev, but that does not reflect his recent domination.

The 24-year-old has won his last nine clashes with Zverev, with the Wimbledon final their fifth encounter in 2026.

Zverev recognised his struggles against Sinner with a light-hearted comment that made thousands laugh inside Centre Court.

“First of all, Jannik, I don’t really like you anymore,” he said. “I’ve lost to you nine times in a row.”

Although Zverev must hate playing against Sinner, their mutual respect was clear to see at Wimbledon.

Zverev was quick to congratulate the Italian on his second Wimbledon title after joking that he disliked him.

“Congratulations to Jannik. He showed once again why he’s the best player in the world,” he continued.

Zverev has already silenced many doubters by winning his first Grand Slam at the French Open earlier this year.

His next goal will be to end his losing streak against Sinner and to replace him as the world number one.
