Free tennis Saturday; UTR, USTA tournaments this summer

LIMA — The Lima Area Tennis Association is offering free tennis from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16 at the Collett Street tennis courts, 900 S. Collett St., Lima.

The event will provide red balls and loaner rackets for participants of all levels, ages 12 and up, to play fun drills and social tennis.

LATA will also feature many events throughout the summer, including:

• Four adult beginner classes for $40 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 2 through June 11

• Men’s and women’s UTR tournaments at UNOH tennis complex, 2875 Racers Way, Lima, from June 12 to June 14 and June 19 to June 21.

• USTA Level 5 Open for girls age 12 and under, July 11 and 12 at UNOH, 2883 University Way, Lima.
