Amid rumors that she could miss the 2026 Wimbledon Championships due to a right lower leg injury, Emma Raducanu cut her practice set against Anna Kalinskaya short on Saturday. She also postponed her media commitments.

The British tennis star was spotted wearing a protective boot on her right foot, sparking fears that she could be forced to miss the grass-court Grand Slam.

Emma Raducanu Sparks Injury Fears Days Before Wimbledon

Regarded as one of the top talents in British tennis, Raducanu enjoyed a strong start to the grass-court swing. She made the final at the HSBC Championships, claiming impressive wins over Iva Jovic and Sorana CĂźrstea in the process.

However, the Brit’s hopes of competing at Wimbledon appear to be in the balance, with reports claiming she cut her practice session short on Saturday amid speculation about her injury.

Raducanu also moved her pre-tournament press conference from Saturday to Sunday. Casting further doubt on her campaign.

Raducanu appeared to have some strapping on her right leg during her practice set against Kalinskaya.

It is unclear how serious Raducanu’s injury is and whether she will be at 100% in time for Wimbledon, but Clay magazine reported earlier this week that the 2021 US Open champion was seen leaving the All England Club wearing a protective boot. She also missed one practice session this week but was included in the singles draw made on Friday. Her representatives were also quick to allay any concerns about injury.

Raducanu is seeded 30th at the 2026 Championships and is due to take on Antonia RuĆŸić in the first round on Monday.

The 23-year-old has never made it past the fourth round at Wimbledon but will fancy her chances of making a deep Grand Slam run on the back of her impressive showing at Queen’s Club. However, the injury scare has put a damper on her preparations for the biggest event in British tennis.
