Carlos Alcaraz shares pictures with Drake, Victor Wembanyama and Spain players at World Cup final

The Spanish tennis ace was in attendance at MetLife Stadium to see his nation win the FIFA World Cup, and met some big names during the event.

With Spain knocking off Argentina to be crowned world champions, there were several figures across sports and entertainment in the stands in East Rutherford, New Jersey, to watch the game.

One of those was Carlos Alcaraz, as the Spanish tennis star came to support the national team. As a Nike athlete, Alcaraz was invited to the Nike suite at MetLife Stadium.

Taking to Instagram, Carlos Alcaraz shared pictures of his time at the FIFA World Cup final. Alcaraz posted images of him meeting several superstars in the Nike suite.

He got the chance to meet Travis Scott, Drake, and Victor Wembanyama, along with Spanish players like Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi.

Alcaraz is a massive football fan, so his being in attendance to see his country possibly win the FIFA World Cup should come as no surprise.

But to see the reigning Australian Open winner alongside some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment shows just how much of a star he has become.

Carlos Alcaraz replicates Rafael Nadal celebration after Spain win FIFA World Cup

Given his heritage and his aggressive approach on the tennis court, many have compared Carlos Alcaraz to Rafael Nadal, one of the best tennis players of all time.

The comparisons and debate may continue for years to come, but Alcaraz followed Nadal’s lead with the FIFA World Cup.

Back in 2010, just weeks after winning at Wimbledon, Nadal travelled to Johannesburg, South Africa, to watch Spain take on the Netherlands in the FIFA World Cup final.

In a similarly low-scoring game, Spain won in extra time thanks to a goal from Andres Iniesta to lift the World Cup trophy.

Much like Alcaraz did this weekend, Nadal joined the Spanish side in their celebrations after the game, posing for pictures with Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas, players who played for Real Madrid, Nadal’s favourite team.

It’s almost poetic to see history repeat itself in a way, as yet another Spanish tennis star joined the national team to celebrate the FIFA World Cup, 16 years later.
