Carlos Alcaraz recently shared a heartfelt reaction to his brother Alvaro’s vacation in Greece with his girlfriend.
Alcaraz has been sidelined since April after sustaining a right wrist injury at the Barcelona Open. He opened his campaign with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Otto Virtanen but was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to the injury. He is now focused on making his return at the Cincinnati Open after pulling out of the Canadian Open.
Meanwhile, his brother, Alvaro, has been enjoying a trip to Greece with his girlfriend and posted a bunch of pictures from the vacation on Instagram. Carlos Alcaraz quickly reacted to his brother’s outing, resharing a picture of the couple on his Instagram story and penning a statement of intent that read:
“Nice place to disconnect!🔋 Now back to the wheel!”
Alcaraz began his 2026 season with an impressive run at the Australian Open. He defeated the likes of Tommy Paul, Alex de Minaur, Alexander Zverev, and more to advance to the final. In the final, he faced Novak Djokovic and lifted the trophy after a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 victory over the Serb.
Along with his expected return to the Cincinnati Open, Alcaraz has also been named in Team Europe for the Laver Cup, which is scheduled to take place from September 25 to 27 at the O2 Arena in London, England.

During his Australian Open campaign, Carlos Alcaraz spoke about the importance of his brother, Alvaro, during a press conference. The Spaniard described him as a “very important” part of both his personal life and his team, adding that Alvaro brings positivity and support that help him perform at his best. He said:
“My brother is a very important person in my personal and professional life. He brings me many positive things that I need to perform better and well on the court and in tournaments. Now he’s going to take on more prominence alongside Samu,” said Carlos Alcaraz.
He added:
“He knows how we operate and how the tour works, and he knows a ton about tennis. Sometimes, he has opinions and a way of seeing things that bring a lot to me and to Samu. Happy to see him in the box, even more involved, and he brings me a lot.”
Carlos Alcaraz started his 2026 season on a strong note, winning the Australian Open and Qatar Open consecutively. He also reached the semifinals of the Indian Wells Masters but fell short to Daniil Medvedev.
