Auburn women’s tennis has announced the signing of Maya Iyengar, the top-ranked recruit in the nation in 2025 according to Tennis Recruiting, to its 2026-2027 roster.
Head coach Jordan Szabo continues to build up the women’s tennis program on the Plains. After a year of historic achievements for the Tigers, they land a big piece for the upcoming season with Maya Iyengar.
She is joining a team that has growing expectations and championship goals. Iyengar spoke on her signing to the Tigers and how she is excited to be with this coaching staff at Auburn.
âIâm extremely excited to join the Auburn Family and begin this next chapter of my career,â Iyengar said. âFrom the start, I felt like Auburn was the perfect place to continue developing my game and challenge myself every day. Iâm so grateful to Coach Szabo and the entire coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I canât wait to get to work, keep growing as a player, and represent Auburn. A native of Scottsdale, Arizona, she holds a career-high ITF singles ranking of No. 69 and No. 727 WTA singles ranking. Iyengar has played in many junior events and at the professional level. She claimed the J300 Houston Pan American Championship, while she has also made final appearances in singles and doubles at the U18 Billie Jean King Championship.
