Alexander Zverev’s and Flavio Cobolli’s Prize Money After French Open 2026 Final

Alexander Zverev and Flavio Cobolli competed in the men’s singles final of the French Open on Sunday, and it was the German who triumphed 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-1 for his first-ever Grand Slam title. Zverev marked an impressive campaign at Stade Roland-Garros by winning the final and clinching a historic Major.

The 2026 French Open men’s singles event was full of upsets and shock results. Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic were both sent packing early, while several talented youngsters made a name for themselves with sublime performances in Paris.

Zverev and Cobolli both fought their way through to the French Open men’s singles final. In the end, Zverev clinched the coveted Coupe des Mousquetaires and will receive a big chunk of the tournament’s €61,723 million (US$71.1 million) prize money purse.

For winning the men’s singles title at the French Open, Zverev will receive €2.8 million (US$3.2 million). For making it all the way to the final, Cobolli will get €1,400,000 (US$1.6 million) in prize money.

In addition to the prize money, Zverev will also receive 2000 ranking points as the 2026 French Open men’s singles champion. Meanwhile, Cobolli will get 1300 ranking points when the ATP Rankings are updated on Monday.

Semifinalists Jakub Menšík and Matteo Arnaldi will both receive €750,000 (US$864,000) in prize money. Félix Auger-Aliassime, João Fonseca, Rafael Jódar, and Matteo Berrettini will all get €470,000 (US$541,000) for reaching the quarterfinals.

All players who were eliminated in the fourth round will earn €285,000 (US$328,000) in prize money, and those who made the third round will get €187,000 (US$215,000).

The 2026 French Open was played just weeks after a dispute broke out between the players and the organizers of the four Grand Slams. The leading players led the protest, calling for a larger share of revenue. Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka, and Coco Gauff even raised the threat of a Grand Slam boycott in the future.

Currently, the Grand Slams allocate around 12-15% of revenue to the players, who want around 22% of the profits.

Zverev arrived in Paris looking to finally end his Grand Slam drought. Amid all the upsets at the French Open, he kept his composure and enjoyed a promising start. The second seed continued to get better as the Grand Slam went on, claiming an impressive straight-sets win over Jódar before dispatching Menšík in four sets.

With his win over Cobolli in the French Open final, Zverev is finally a Grand Slam champion. The 29-year-old had to endure years of heartbreak at the final hurdle, but he finally prevailed in the face of adversity.
