The 2026 French Open is underway.

In the early going, we’ve seen few surprises, but we’ve barely scratched the surface of the action.

Jannik Sinner is fairly convincingly the favorite at -340, while Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka are even atop the women’s bracket at +275.

French Open men’s singles odds analysis

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner remains the clear betting favorite to win the 2026 French Open after an extraordinary run through the ATP Tour.

Sinner enters Roland Garros at -340 after winning a record five consecutive Masters 1000 titles and carrying an 11-match clay-court winning streak into the Italian Open. 

Alexander Zverev moved into the second betting spot following the withdrawal of Carlos Alcaraz and another deep clay-court season from the German. 

Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic saw his odds dip after a surprising second-round loss in Rome to rising Croatian star Dino Prizmic. However, he will at least avoid Sinner until the finals, if he can make it that far.

Day 1 of the tournament only featured one true upset as Nishesh Basavareddy toppled Taylor Fritz.

French Open women’s singles odds analysis

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka is the tepid favorite over three-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek.

Elena Rybakina remains firmly in the mix at +650 thanks to her power game and improved movement on clay, and Coco Gauff comes in at +650 too after falling in the Rome final to Elina Svitolina (+1600)

Teen sensation Mirra Andreeva rounds out the Top 5 after continuing her rapid rise up the rankings and proving she can compete deep into major tournaments.

Previous French Open singles champions

Here are the French Open singles champions for the last 10 years. On the women’s side, there have been seven different winners over the last decade, including seven straight unique champions, but Iga Swiatek has won four of the last five events. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz both have wins, ending Rafael Nadal’s sustained run of titles.
