MASON − The end of the 2026 Cincinnati Open is near, with just four players remaining in both the men’s and women’s singles draws. Saturday, Aug. 22 is headlined by four semifinal matches that will decide who will be the ones left competing for the Rookwood Cup.

On the ATP side, No. 7 Flavio Cobolli faces No. 21 Arthur Fils to kick off singles play at 1:30 p.m. on center court. Cobolli, this year’s French Open runner-up, is having the best ATP 1000 run of his life and in his first-ever Masters semifinal after beating Tommy Paul in three sets on Thursday. Fils is also having a career year and in his third ATP 1000 semifinal of 2026: a remarkable turnaround after he struggled with a back injury in 2025.

No. 27 Brandon Nakashima and No. 17 Frances Tiafoe kick off the night session at 7 p.m., with both players fighting for the opportunity to become the first American man to win the Cincinnati Open since 2006. Nakashima continues his breakout summer after reaching the National Bank Open final just over a week ago, while Tiafoe, a finalist here in 2024, looks for a second chance to claim the Rookwood Cup.

The women’s side of singles play begins with a matchup between No. 3 Jessica Pegula and No. 7 Iga Swiatek. Swiatek, the defending champion, is having the best stretch of her otherwise quiet season: she’s coming off her first title of the 2026 season at the National Bank Open. Meanwhile, Pegula has always shined on the North American hard courts, reaching the final in Cincinnati back in 2024.

A matchup between No. 4 Coco Gauff and unseeded Sarah Bejlek will wrap up the day at 7:30 p.m. Gauff, the 2023 champion, will test Bejlek, who has slayed other tournament titans like No. 20 Madison Keys and World No. 1 Sabalenka en route to her maiden WTA 1000 semifinal. However, Gauff is still searching for a title in 2026 but is now just two wins away.

Also happening on center court is the women’s doubles final, which will feature Czech pairing Marie Bouzkova and Linda Noskova against Magali Kempen and Alexandra Panova at 11 a.m.

Frances Tiafoe, of United States, serves to Felix Auger-Aliassime, of Canada, at the Cincinnati Open at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

The all-Czech duo has gone up 6-1 against Alexandra Panova and Magali Kempen.

First-time ATP 1000 finalist, American finalist will both be guaranteed at Cincinnati Open

The all-American semi-final between No. 27 Brandon Nakashima and No. 17 Frances Tiafoe guarantees a representative of the Stars and Stripes in Sunday’s men’s final, while the semi between No. 21 Arthur Fils and No. 7 Flavio Cobolli is a battle of two players fighting to reach their first Masters final.
