Despite some of tennis’ biggest stars having question marks surrounding their availability for the US Open, ticket prices have risen exponentially in 2026.

The world of professional sports has continued to get more expensive each year, and tennis is not immune to this phenomenon. Ticket prices have been steadily rising every year.

The US Open will begin later in August, and as the last Grand Slam major of the calendar year, fans are quite excited to see how it all unfolds.

But the tournament might just have to proceed without the two biggest names in men’s tennis. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are both dealing with injuries which might see them miss the tournament.

US Open’s average ‘get-in’ ticket price jumps from $256 to $322

Watching high-level tennis has never been cheap, but the average prices generally made it accessible for much of the public. Games in the early rounds and non-marquee matchups are often attended by regular fans.

However, that has been made quite difficult during this year’s US Open. Based on reports from Front Office Sports, the prices for this year’s tournament have increased drastically on average.

There are just under two weeks for the US Open to begin. At the same time in 2025, the average price to go watch a game in non-premium seats was $256.

In 2026, that number has gone up to $322 at the same time. This marks an increase of 26 percent, which is not a negligible amount of money for fans to spend on a single game.

Sinner or Alcaraz, both among the biggest draws, could miss the tournament. If that happens, prices for the tournament will surely go down. For now, amid speculation around their availability, that’s been far from the case.
