Wimbledon Sends Seven-Word Message on Carlos Alcaraz’s Hobby originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Carlos Alcaraz is seeking his third Wimbledon title as he advances from the quarterfinals after defeating Great Britain’s Cameron Norrie in straight sets. The 22-year-old Spaniard has been lighting up the crowd with his powerful and creative shot making as he enters the semifinals at Wimbledon for the third year in a row.
Of course it can’t be all tennis, all the time, and when not on the courts, Alcaraz has a favorite hobby to keep his mind and body away from the pressures of the game.
During his post-match interview after the third round, Alcaraz was asked about his off-court passion and said, “I just love playing golf on my days off.”
The No. 2 seed recently played a couple rounds with two-time Wimbledon winner Andy Murray.
Just days after that interview, Alcaraz is wasting no time setting up his next round and may have just found his next playing partner, none other than English actor Tom Holland.

In a video posted on Wimbledon’s X account, Holland, 29, best known for his role as Spider-Man, approaches Alcaraz on the practice court and the two hit it off, not about tennis, but about golf.
“Carlos Alcaraz is after some more golf…” the post reads.
In their brief exchange, Holland introduces himself to Alcaraz who says, “I saw you play golf as well,” before complimenting the English actor’s good golf swing. Holland then suggests that he and Alcaraz go play golf sometime, and Alcaraz quickly agrees.
Holland, like Alcaraz, is an avid golfer and played in the 2024 BMW PGA Championship pro-Am event alongside English professional golfer and seven-time DP World Tour winner Tommy Fleetwood. He was also spotted warming up at the driving range last year where he met Rory McIlroy and English cricketer Ben Stokes.
Alcaraz will face 25-year-old American Taylor Fritz on Friday as the Spaniard pursues a third straight Wimbledon title.
