Hawaii’s Adriano Dzhenev was named Big West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Dzhenev, a sophomore from Haskovo, Bulgaria, won his doubles matches with partner Kent Mueller, 6-4, against UC Santa Barbara. They led their match late against Cal Poly, but it was unfinished after the doubles point was clinched elsewhere.
Both of Dzhenev’s singles matches went unfinished. He was tied in the third set against UCSB and led in the third against Cal Poly.
