Kostyuk, 23, is playing some of the best tennis of her career at the moment. After building some momentum at the National Bank Open and Cincinnati Masters, she reached the fourth round of the US Open for the first time in her career. She defeated Katie Boulter, Zeynep Sonmez and Diane Parry before losing to Karolina Muchova 6-3, 6-7, 6-3.
âNew York is heat, noise and energy all at once,âÂ
Finishing the 2025 season on a strong note.
Kostyuk certainly helped out her ranking by reaching the Round of 16 at the US Open. That being said, she’ll need to perform well in Asia if she wants to crack the top 20.
On Saturday, fans of Kostyuk will get to see her in action against Ella Seidel. She’ll be favored to advance to the next round of the China Open.
If Kostyuk builds off her success at the US Open, she might be considered a dark-horse contender to win the 2026 Australian Open in January. That being said, she has some work to do to reach that point.
