Tennessee tennis wins at Mississippi State

No. 14 Tennessee (6-1, 2-0 SEC) defeated No. 37 Mississippi State (9-2, 0-2 SEC), 4-2, on Thursday at Mississippi State University Tennis Center in Starkville, Mississippi.

Thursday marked the Lady Vols’ first road match in SEC tennis play this season.

“I’m really proud of our team today,” Tennessee head coach Alison Ojeda said. “We knew Mississippi State was going to compete really hard and that’s exactly what they did, for every single point. They made us better, which is what good competition should do.”

Tennessee leads the all-time tennis series, 42-11, against the Bulldogs.
