Taylor Fritz and Morgan Riddle breakup rumors appear to be fake news

Taylor Fritz and longtime girlfriend Morgan Riddle have reportedly broken up after nearly six years of dating.

Tennis internet sleuths are trying to figure out if the rumors are true. They did not originate from anyone close to Fritz or Riddle.

The saga began with an April 4 post by X/Twitter user “The Craig Shapiro Tennis Podcast” who has 565 followers. The post indicated unnamed “reliable sources” told him that the couple broke up. The post went viral, gaining over 270,000 views.

Why the rumors appear to be untrue

Fritz last played on March 24 losing in the Miami Open fourth round. Riddle was in Miami with him. She was also in his box in early March at Indian Wells.

Riddle appeared on the April 2 episode of “The Sports Gossip Show.” One of the discussion topics was how she “conquered the tennis world.”

Credible sources (like the Tennis Channel) never reported on or shared the rumor.

Fritz’s challenging 2026 continues

In addition to persistent rumors about his relationship, Fritz is having a frustrating 2026 tennis season due to injury. He is one of many players who opted not to play the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.

He is on the players’ list for the BMW Open (ATP 500) beginning April 13 and the Mutua Madrid Open (and ATP 1000) starting April 20.

Fritz likes to play on clay acquiring the nickname “Claylor.” He will not miss the European Clay season unless it is absolutely necessary.
