Naomi Osaka has confirmed her plans for her next tournament outfit after being knocked out of Indian Wells.

Osaka sported her leopard print design, alongside striking jewellery, once again at Indian Wells, before losing to Aryna Sabalenka in her fourth round match.

This is not the first time that the former world number one has worn a unique on-court outfit, with Osaka’s Australian Open attire getting a lot of people talking.

After losing to Sabalenka at Indian Wells, Osaka has revealed if she plans to wear the leopard print outfit again or if she has something else in store for the Miami Open.

Naomi Osaka suggests there may be a change in her leopard print outfit at the Miami Open

After losing to Sabalenka, Osaka spoke in her post-match press conference, where she was mainly asked about the match itself.

However, Osaka was also asked if she plans new kits for every big tournament or if she will also wear leopard print in Miami.

Osaka confirmed that she will be wearing leopard print in Miami, but suggested that she might make a few alterations, admitting that she may get in trouble with Nike.

“It’s the leopard, but we might switch it up,” said Osaka. “We might do something, and I might get in trouble with Nike, I’m not sure.

“But, no, I think it’s fun. I think it’s fun that people are engaging and asking. You definitely haven’t asked me a fashion question yet, but I think it will be fun.

“For, like, the swings, the kits are kind of set. It’s like Australia, Indian Wells, Miami, Europe. Yeah, we’re just trying to make it a little more fun.”

Has Naomi Osaka ever won the Miami Open before?

Osaka will be making her ninth appearance at the Miami Open this year, but she is still yet to win the title at the WTA 1000 tournament.

The four-time Grand Slam champion’s best result in Miami came in 2022, when Osaka reached the final before losing to Iga Swiatek.

Osaka reached the fourth round at the Miami Open last year, before she was beaten by Jasmine Paolini.

Last year, Osaka was not seeded at the Miami Open and has therefore already boosted her chances this year as she will receive an automatic bye to the second round.

The main draw of the Miami Open gets underway on Tuesday, March 17, but Osaka will not play her first match until at least Thursday, March 19.
