In what is becoming a tradition, Mirra Andreeva thanked herself during her victory speech in Linz on Sunday.
Andreeva had plenty to be grateful for with her competitiveness. She came from behind winning the last two sets of the match after dropping the first set 1-6 against Anastasia Potapova.
Andreeva is a fiery player, and we have to remind ourselves that she is a teenager. However, the thanking herself portion of her podium victory speech is getting old.

Andreeva has unlimited potential
Many believe Andreevaâs only limitation on the tennis court is herself. She can mentally unravel in adverse circumstances.
We would like her to thank herself in private or in the post match press conferences but not on court during the trophy ceremony.
With the win, Andreeva vaults herself back inside the Top 10 to World No. 9. Even though she has succeeded on the hardcourts, clay is arguably her best surface. She was the 2024 Roland Garros semifinalist. Gaining her clay court form with the Linz win a month before the French Open will build her confidence.

We want more Andreeva doubles
As great as Andreeva is in singles, fans love to see her relaxed and bubbly personality on the doubles court. She had a lot of success last year with Diana Shnaider.

This year, she has played less doubles, but her occasional 2026 partner, a fellow teenager, Victoria Mboko, is a team that garners a lot of attention and respect.
