Mike Tyson’s frustration over Carlos Alcaraz repeatedly beating Novak Djokovic has resurfaced following another Grand Slam final defeat.

The former heavyweight champion first shared his feelings during a podcast appearance back in 2024, when he shared his admiration for Djokovic.

Those comments have taken on fresh relevance after Djokovic was beaten by Alcaraz once again on the biggest stage.

Mike Tyson names Novak Djokovic as his favorite player

Mike Tyson discussed his interest in tennis while appearing on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast. When asked about his favorite player, Tyson replied by naming Novak Djokovic.

He added that while he respects Carlos Alcaraz, Tyson admitted that seeing Djokovic lose to Alcaraz gets him very frustrated.

“Tennis. Djokovic, Djokovic is the man.”

“Listen, I didn’t think Djokovic was going to beat him this time, he’s always kicking Djokovic’s a–. It makes me so f—— mad!”

The comment made it clear where Tyson’s loyalties lie and why the rivalry continues to frustrate him.

Tyson unlikely to have enjoyed Alcaraz winning Australian Open

Mike Tyson later explained why Carlos Alcaraz’s success against Novak Djokovic gets under his skin. At the time of his comments, Djokovic had beaten Alcaraz to win the 2024 Olympic gold medal.

However, Alcaraz had just beaten Djokovic in the 2024 Wimbledon final, which is why Tyson was concerned at the time that his favorite was going to lose again.

Those remarks now carry added weight after Alcaraz defeated Djokovic yet again in the 2026 Australian Open final.

If Mike Tyson was watching the game, he probably wasn’t happy seeing his favorite player lose to Alcaraz once again.
