Lady Vols open SEC tennis play with sweep against Kentucky

No. 9 Tennessee (5-1, 1-0 SEC) opened Southeastern Conference tennis play with a, 4-0, win against Kentucky (8-2, 0-1 SEC) on Saturday at Barksdale Stadium.

Three singles courts went unfinished between the Lady Vols and Wildcats.

Tennessee is 32-19 all time against Kentucky.

“This team loves to compete,” Tennessee head coach Alison Ojeda said. “We love training, but coming out on the court and competing, that’s what they do for each other.”

Tennessee will next play Thursday at Mississippi State. First serve between the Lady Vols and Bulldogs is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST.
