Jannik Sinner’s Sleeve at Wimbledon Explained by New Arm Injury originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Jannik Sinner has a new look to his all-white attire at Wimbledon, but it is not a welcome addition. Fans are noticing Sinner is doing his best Allen Iverson impression by wearing a white sleeve on his arm at the All England Club.

Unfortunately, it is not a fashion statement as Sinner is dealing with an elbow injury. Sinner heads into the Wimbledon semifinal match against Novak Djokovic nursing the injury sustained on Monday during his win over Grigor Dimitrov.

“On Monday, Sinner fell during the first round of his fourth-round matchup against Dimitrov,” The Sporting News’ Daniel Mader detailed. “He went to receive medical attention for his right elbow soon after.

“It appeared as if the injury was impacting the 23-year-old star’s play vs. Dimitrov as the match continued, with Dimitrov building a 6-3, 7-5, 2-2 lead before he had to retire due to an injury of his own.”

It will be worth watching how Sinner’s injury will impact his play against Djokovic. On Tuesday, Sinner’s coach Darren Cahill expressed optimism about the injury.

“We did go out to the indoor courts and just fed balls (to him) for 20-30 minutes, just to feel the ball,” Cahill noted on ESPN. “He’s going to be OK, it was just nice to get on the court — it’s impossible for him to take a day off.”

Despite the injury, the World No. 1 is still a heavy favorite to defeat Djokovic and advance to the Wimbledon final. Sinner is listed at -225 to win in the tennis odds, while Djokovic sits at +175, per DraftKings.
