Jannik Sinner, the new World No. 1, pulled off a feat only accomplished one time before. He won Indian Wells, the Miami Open, and Monte-Carlo Masters, three Masters 1000 level tennis tournaments, back-to-back-to back in a six week timeframe. Novak Djokovic did it in 2015.
Sinnerâs win at Monte Carlo is his second ATP clay court title. He managed the windy conditions better and got the highly contested first set in a tiebreaker.
His ability to change tactics in conditions against his biggest rival is unparalleled.

Menâs tennis is thriving, thanks to Sinner and Alcaraz
For those who say that menâs tennis is boring, and Sinner is mechanical, it is time to appreciate the talent of he and Alcaraz.
They have set themselves apart from the rest of their peers. Their geniune friendship and respect for each other elevates the sport and makes both extremely likable. They push each other to make the other better.

Hard not to think about a potential Roland Garros meeting
Is this a dress rehearsal for Roland Garros? No one knows for sure, and it would be practically impossible for Sinner and Alcaraz to duplicate the five-set tug-of-war they produced last year.
Alcaraz owns the last two Grand Slams, the 2025 US Open and 2026 Australian Open. His Australian Open win sealed the Career Grand Slam for him.

A Sinner win at Roland Garros would seal the Career Grand Slam for him as well.
Sinner and Alcaraz own the last nine Grand Slams. Until the rest of pack figures out how to beat these guys in early rounds, and assuming they stay healthy, we are in for a treat as both are entering or are arguably in their prime.
