Jannik Sinner kept his dominant run going at the Miami Open, taking down Alex Michelsen to book his place in the quarterfinals.

Sinner’s next opponent is another American, Frances Tiafoe, as he continues his steady approach, focusing on each match as it comes.

Sinner hasn’t lost a set yet in this year’s tournament. With Carlos Alcaraz knocked out in the third round, Sinner is now the highest-ranked player left in the draw.

The Italian has also been rewriting records along the way. He now holds the mark for most consecutive sets won at ATP Masters events under the current format.

That streak has now reached 28 sets, but what really stands out is that Sinner has also surpassed Roger Federer’s career winning percentage at Masters 1000 events. That kind of consistency isn’t easy to maintain, especially over a long period of time.

After his recent win, Sinner’s record at ATP Masters events now sits at .7803, just ahead of Federer’s .7791.

Among players with at least 50 matches played, that places him third all-time behind the other two members of the sport’s famed Big Three.

Rafael Nadal leads with a mark of .8200, while Novak Djokovic holds second place at .8140.

Carlos Alcaraz is also inside the top five with .7739, while Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Stefan Edberg, Alexander Zverev and Guillermo Coria round out the top ten.

Sinner’s current tally comes from a 103-29 record in ATP Masters 1000 matches. He’ll be looking to add to that total when he faces Tiafoe next.

No top 10 players remain as Frances Tiafoe prepares to face Jannik Sinner

The top half of this year’s Miami Open draw no longer features any top-10 players — not even one left standing by this point of the tournament.

Taylor Fritz had also gone far into previous tournaments but lost early this time. The American hope now rests on Tiafoe and Tommy Paul.
