Medvedev and Sinner are set to renew their rivalry in the Indian Wells Final.
Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner will meet for the 16th time when they face off in the Indian Wells Open final.
Both players have looked strong throughout the tournament, with Medvedev seeded second and Sinner coming in at No. 11.
Medvedev reached the final by snapping Carlos Alcarazâs winning run, earning his first victory over the Spaniard since the 2023 US Open.
Sinner advanced with a straightforward win over Alexander Zverev, taking down the German in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
Sinner vs Medvedev: Head-to-head record
Sinner has won each of their last five encounters, though, dating back to October last year. Before that, though, it was all one-way traffic as Medvedev won their first six matches on tour together.
Medvedev and Sinner are unbeaten ahead of the Indian Wells final
The 2026 Indian Wells Open final brings together two players who havenât dropped a set all tournament, something that hasnât happened since 2015.
Sinner and Medvedev have both been in top form throughout the event, each moving through the draw without giving up a single set.
Opta Ace notes that the last time this occurred was in 2015 when Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic reached the final unbeaten, with Djokovic eventually taking the title.
Sinner reached the final with straight-set wins over Joao Fonseca, Learner Tien, and Alexander Zverev.
Medvedevâs path included victories over Alex Michelsen, defending champion Jack Draper, and Carlos Alcaraz.
Looking back at Sinner and Medvedevâs last final meeting
Sinner holds a strong record against Medvedev, having come out on top in seven of their past eight encounters.
Medvedev won the first four matches between them on tour, but since Sinnerâs breakthrough win in the 2023 Beijing final, he has only lost to the Russian once.
The pair havenât faced off since 2024, which was also the year of their most recent final meeting.
That came at the Australian Open, where Sinner lifted his first Grand Slam trophy with a five-set win after coming back from two sets down. The victory also extended his winning streak over Medvedev to four matches in the finals.
