The BNP Paribas Open offers a wide range of food and drinks, from a $50 burger meal to several healthier options around the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. But if youâre looking for an alcoholic drink beyond your typical beer or hard seltzer, the tournament has a popular option that keeps you on theme: The Drop Shot.
Concocted by the culinary team from Spotlight 29 Casino, the $27 drink has been featured at the tournament for the last few years at two prominent tents near Stadium 1. It includes pineapple hard seltzer, a specialty pineapple syrup mix, a shot of Maestro Dobel 50 Cristalino tequila and green food coloring, topped with a couple of âpineapple balls,” and it comes in a glass that lists the past winners of the tennis tournament.
The Drop Shot, which is far less sugary than what you might imagine for a specialty cocktail, has proven popular at the tournament, with vendors expecting they will sell between 24,000 and 28,000 over the course of the two-week tournament.
