Iga Swiatek has been at the apex of women’s tennis for years now, and yet is still just 24 years old.

During that time, the Polish superstar has claimed six Grand Slam titles as well as plenty of other elite honours to help cement her status as one of the sport’s leading figures.

With that success comes great fame, and great opportunities to meet your heroes.

Fortunately, that’s just what Swiatek has managed to do in Miami, having since penned a social media message outlining her excitement after meeting Jon Bon Jovi.

Taking to Instagram, she posted a picture standing beside the rock legend, grinning from ear to ear.

Attached was the following caption, which first read: “WHATTT. Legend! @jonbonjovi”.

She then went on to outline just how big of a fan she really is, adding: “Fun fact: I bought the “Slippery When Wet” vinyl during my kinda breakthrough tournament in Toronto in 2019 and it has a special place in my heart. It was amazing to meet you.”

His presence at the Hard Rock Stadium has surprised many, with Victoria Mboko another lucky tennis star who got to meet the legend himself.

Swiatek will be hoping to get her year back on track here in Miami, where she has already won the event before.

However, that was four years ago, making it a rather distant memory for the reigning Wimbledon champion.

There, she claimed the title without dropping a set, setting her up for a sensational 2022 campaign where she won Roland Garros and the US Open, finishing the year as the world number one.

That Miami run began with a swift and dominant win over Victoria Golubic, before breezing past Madison Brengle in a similarly simple fashion.

Beating Coco Gauff in the Round of 16 meant Swiatek had secured her spot in the quarter-finals having dropped just nine games.

She would go on to beat Petra Kvitova and Jessica Pegula to reach the final, before beating Naomi Osaka 6-4, 6-0 in the final, claiming the title without dropping a set.
