Girls tennis: BBE moves on in Section 6A

Oct. 1—LONG PRAIRIE — The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa girls tennis team won its Section 6A play-in match over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle on Wednesday.

The Jaguars beat the Thunder, 4-3.

BBE opened the season with a 4-3 victory over LPGE on Aug. 15.

The Jaguars got wins from Andrea Douvier at No. 2 singles and Jena Borgerding at No. 4 singles. BBE’s No. 2 doubles team of Kylie Zins and Kwynn Quade and its No. 3 doubles tandem of Harper Herickhoff and Abby Coners also triumphed.

BBE advances to play Minnewaska at 4 p.m. Thursday in Glenwood in the quarterfinals. Other quarterfinal matches at 4 p.m. Thursday include Melrose at New London-Spicer, Sauk Centre at Osakis and St. John’s Prep at Foley.
