Girls tennis | Agoura, Oaks Christian to meet in CIF-SS Division 4 final

The Agoura High and Oaks Christian School girls tennis teams won their semifinal matches on Wednesday, Nov. 12, to set up an all-local showdown between Marmonte League rivals for the CIF-Southern Section Division 4 championship.

Lyla Haiat swept her singles sets and the doubles teams of Veorah Feddanich and Grace Hennessey and Lily Levy and Sophia Sokolsky swept their sets to lead Agoura (13-9) to a 12-6 win over host Torrance.

Ellie Lin, Sophia Yu and Christina Vojtech each won two singles sets and the doubles teams of Katherine Blackwood and Makena Morgan and Hannah Huang and Elise Rankin won two sets apiece to lead Oaks Christian to an 11-7 win over visiting Pasadena Poly.

The Chargers (13-9) and Lions (12-6) will play for the Division 4 title on Monday, Nov. 17, at the University of Redlands. The match is scheduled to start at 12:15 p.m.

Calabasas reached the Division 2 final with an 10-8 victory over host and top-seeded Woodbridge. The Marmonte League champion Coyotes (17-1) will play Harvard-Westlake in the championship match on Monday at 3 p.m. at the University of Redlands.

Oxnard’s impressive run in Division 8 ended with a 10-8 loss to host Santiago-Garden Grove in a semifinal match. The Yellowjackets finished the season with a 10-7 record.
