From French Open opponents to TikTok dance partners?
TikTok users could see French Open winner Coco Gauff and her opponent Aryna Sabalenka together lip-syncing to a TikTok audio and also dancing to Bob SInclair’s “Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now).”
The two videos were posted to both Gauff and Sabalenka’s TikTok accounts.
The video sparked conversation due to the events that took place at the French Open.
Sabalenka’s comments at the French Open
The 2025 French Open took place in Paris from May 25 to June 7. The tournament was filled with excitement until the end as Gauff, the Delray Beach native, defeated Sabalenka in the final two sets to one.
In the press conference following the match, the WTA No. 1 player Sabalenka said some comments that left Gauff and the media surprised.
“I think she won the match not because she played incredible,” said Sabalenka. “Just because I made all of those mistakes, if you look from the outside, from kind of easy balls.”
Sabalenka later issued an apology to Gauff and stating she played with “poise and purpose” and that Gauff deserved the title.
Aryna Sabalenka releases a statement saying she wants to give Coco Gauff the credit she deserves:
“I made over 70 unforced errors, so I can’t pretend it was a great day for me.

Coco Gauff history with Aryna Sabalenka
This is not the first time the world’s No. 1 and No. 2 faced off. Gauff leads their head-to-head matchups 6-5. She won her first major title in 2023 against Sabalenka in the US Open. Sabalenka beat Gauff in the 2024 Australian Open semifinals where she would then beat Zheng Qinwen in the final.
