In singles, freshman Sylvester Stehr rallied down 0-3 in the second set to triumph over Enzo Zaho 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Kycen Donahue won at No. 3 singles in straight sets. Only sophomore Zander Corwin faltered on Monday at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-1.
Head coach Keith Hopkins was quite pleased afterwards. The Tigers open Evergreen Conference play on Wednesday at Aberdeen.
“Great start to the season,” he said. “We’ve got a great group of boys ready to go.”
