Boys tennis roundup: Minnewaska wins 1, loses 1 at Sartell

Apr. 23—SARTELL — The Minnewaska boys tennis team beat Sartell 4-3 on Wednesday.

The Lakers won 3 of 4 singles matches and captured No. 3 doubles to secure the non-conference victory. The Lakers also fell 4-3 to Bemidji in the triangular at Sartell Middle School.

At No. 1 singles, Minnewaska’s Tenzin Dahl beat Sartell’s Dane Kenning 7-5, 2-6, 10-4 in the closest match of the day. Dahl also won a cliff-hanger over Bemidji’s Owen Lappinga, 1-6, 6-1, 10-7.

The Lakers’ Drew Bleick at No. 2 singles and Carter LeClaire at No. 3 singles each scored straight-set victories over the Sabres.

At No. 3 doubles, Minnewaska’s Easton Palmer and Aidric Vold edged Tyler Larson and Braydon Schneider 7-5, 6-2.

Minnewaska next plays New London-Spicer at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Glenwood.
