The stage is set for the Wimbledon 2025 women’s singles final as 13th-seeded American Amanda Anisimova takes on Poland’s Iga Swiatek at Centre Court tonight at 11 AM ET. Both players are aiming to lift the Venus Rosewater Dish for the first time, continuing a recent tradition of first-time champions at SW19.

Anisimova’s run has been nothing short of remarkable. She took down the tournament’s top seed, Aryna Sabalenka, in a thrilling three-set semifinal, her third career win over the world No.1 on a different surface. Now, the 22-year-old finds herself in her first-ever Grand Slam final. Her opponent, Swiatek, the eighth seed, is looking for her sixth Major title and a unique one—Wimbledon has been the missing piece.

Ahead of the biggest match of her career, Anisimova shared an emotional post on Instagram. The image showed her soaking in the applause from a roaring crowd, with her hand over her heart. The caption just showed: 🤍

She posted another picture on Instagram which read: “A Wimbledon final and a Jaxi/Egee bday bash 🥹🫶🏼 & nice shirt Kev. See you Saturday !!!!!!!!!!”

She continued, “Just wanna say what a battle out there, credit to Aryna, she is such an incredible competitor 🙏🏽 I’m sure we have many more great battles to come.”

It’s a full-circle moment for Anisimova, who lost in the qualifying round just last year and is now the first player in the Open Era to reach the Wimbledon final after failing to qualify the previous year. Her strong grass-court form and fast starts (she’s won 28 straight matches after winning the first set) make her a serious contender.

Swiatek, meanwhile, is chasing history as the youngest to reach a final on all three surfaces since Justine Henin in 2003.

The men’s final is scheduled for tomorrow, wrapping up an exciting weekend at Wimbledon.
