Actress Eiza Gonzalez is showing love and support for her boyfriend, tennis star Grigor Dimitrov, after he had to stop playing at Wimbledon because of a painful injury.

On Monday, Dimitrov was playing an important match in the fourth round of Wimbledon against world No. 1 Jannik Sinner. Dimitrov was winning the match after taking the first two sets, but during the third set, he suddenly fell to the ground holding his chest and shoulder.

He got help from the medical team on the court and tried to keep going, but the pain was too strong. Dimitrov decided to stop playing, ending his run at the tournament. The crowd at Wimbledon cheered for him as he left the court. Sinner, his opponent and friend, even helped carry Dimitrov’s bags to the locker room.

Shortly after, Gonzalez shared a photo of Dimitrov and wrote a touching message on her Instagram story.

“Love of my life. I couldn’t be more proud of you,” Gonzalez said. “You are BEYOND outstanding. This is just a moment that will pass and it’ll make you even stronger. But watching you today alongside the world’s best was a reminder of who YOU are. You’re a winner. We all saw it. And you’ll do it again. I love you.”

Gonzalez and Dimitrov went public with their relationship in April during the Madrid Open, where she was spotted cheering for him. The two have been seen together at different events, supporting each other’s work.

After the match, Sinner told the fans how sad he felt about Dimitrov’s injury. He said Dimitrov is an “incredible player” and a “good friend,” adding that he hopes Dimitrov will get better soon.

Dimitrov has had a few injuries over the past years, making this retirement extra difficult for him and his fans. Many people were looking forward to seeing how far he could go at Wimbledon, especially since he had been playing well.

Sinner will now play against Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon.
