2025 Wimbledon Championships final results for former Vols

Wimbledon Championships is taking place June 30-July 13 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, England.

Wimbledon Championships is the third major of the tennis season and has been held since 1877. The tournament is played on an outdoor grass court.

Five former Vols competed in the Wimbledon Championships and have been eliminated: Giles Hussey, Johannus Monday, John-Patrick Smith, Mark Wallner and Adam Walton.

In men’s singles competition, No. 13 seed Tommy Paul defeated Monday, 6-4-6-4, 6-2. The former Vol also lost during the first round in doubles competition. Monday and doubles partner David Stevenson were defeated by Mattia Bellucci and Fabian Marozsan, 7-6, 6-4.

Smith lost during the second round in doubles. He and Fernando Romboli lost to Marcelo Demoliner and Guido Andreozzi, 6-4, 6-3. Smith and Romboli defeated United States’ duo of Mackenzie McDonald and Alex Michelsen, 6-4, 7-5, in the first round.

Wallner advanced to the second round in doubles competition after he and partner Jakob Schnaitter defeated Sebastian Baez and Francisco Comesana, 6-4, 7-6. Wallner and Schnaitter lost to No. 10 seed Hugo Nys and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, 6-4, 6-4.

Alexander Erler and Constantin Frantzen defeated Walton and Jenson Brooksby, 7-6, 6-4, in doubles first round play. The former Vol also lost in the first round in singles to Arthur Cazaux, 6-3, 7-6, 6-4, 7-6, 6-1.

Hussey lost a quarterfinal qualifying match to August Holmgren, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.
