ATP Den Bosch Day 2 Predictions Including Hubert Hurkacz vs Marton Fucsovics

Plenty of matches are on the schedule at the ATP Den Bosch event this week, with players hoping to fine tune their games on the quick grass courts. LWOT predicts each of the Tuesday first round matchups, with this set of predictions featuring 2021 Wimbledon semifinalist Hubert Hurkacz, who is in much need of a big month. Who will advance?

Zhang Zhizhen vs Jenson Brooksby

Head-to-head: First meeting 

Ranked just outside the Top 200, Zhang will hope to use his strong groundstrokes on these faster courts. Brooksby, however, presents an interesting challenge, with the American unafraid to hit wonky slices and approach the net. Brooksby is higher ranked, though he comes into this match on an eight-match losing streak dating back to March. Zhang has the more consistent game, and his experience might give him the edge against someone out of form while adjusting to a new surface. Zhang also has multiple matches on grass under his belt due to an ATP Challenger event last week.

James Mccabe vs Zizou Bergs

Head-to-head: First meeting

Bergs has steadily risen the ranks in 2026, but he seems to prefer the clay courts and has encountered far more success away from the green. Mccabe, meanwhile, only has one ATP Tour win to his name, with the vast majority of his matches played on hard courts. The Belgian has a strong forehand, and though these low-bouncing courts could present some challenges, he should have the steadier game and reach the second round as a result.

Thijs Boogaard vs Wu Yibing

Head-to-head: First meeting 

Boogaard has nothing to lose in this matchup. At just 17 years old and fresh in his first ATP Tour match, he should receive a warm welcome on court as the home Dutch player. At ATP Tour level, Wu holds a dismal 1-5 record on grass courts, though he possesses strong groundstrokes and can move quite well on court. If Boogaard brings his A-game, he could put major pressure on the Chinese No. 1, but Wu should be too solid in the decisive moments. 
Prediction: Wu in 3

Hubert Hurkacz vs Marton Fucsovics

Head-to-head: Fucsovics 2-0 

Fucsovics defeated Hurkacz in their most recent meeting in 2022, which took place on the similarly speedy grass courts in Stuttgart. The Pole has had the stronger career overall, but injury setbacks and a loss of confidence have plunged his ranking to near the Top 100 mark. However, Hurkacz has a strong 26-16 record on grass throughout his career, and his big serve can do major damage on these courts. Fucsovics is on a tough five-match losing streak, and the Pole has the confidence to control the court, even when he’s not bringing his best level. Look for Hurkacz to nab a win in this mini rivalry.
