After competing in Beijing, Novak has arrived in Shanghai, where the penultimate Masters 1000 event of the season is taking place from October 7 to October 18.
The organisers of the Rolex Shanghai Masters released the main-draw matchups on Monday morning.
A total of 96 players are in the draw, with the top 32 seeds receiving byes in the opening round.
Novak, a four-time Shanghai champion (2012, 2013, 2015 and 2018), is seeded no.10 and will begin his campaign in the second round against Hubert Hurkacz (POL, H2H 8-0).
Novakâs possible opponents in the later rounds are:
Third round: Lorenzo Musetti (ITA, 24)
Fourth round: Frances Tiafoe (FRA, 7), Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ESP, 25)
Quarter-final: Ben Shelton (USA, 3), Jakub Mensik (CZE, 13), Francisco Cerundolo (ARG, 21)
Semi-final: Alexander Zverev (GER, 1), Flavio Cobolli (ITA, 6), Alex de Minaur (AUS, 9)âŠ
Final: Carlos Alcaraz (ESP, 2), Felix Auger-Aliassime (CAN, 4), Daniil Medvedev (RUS, 5), Arthur Fils (FRA, 8)âŠ
In his most recent appearance in Shanghai, in 2025, Novak reached the semi-finals, where he was stopped by Valentin Vacherot (MCO).
