Roger Federer reveals whether Novak Djokovic can finally land 25th Grand Slam

Novak Djokovic’s former rival and one of the greatest tennis players in history, Roger Federer, has delivered his verdict on whether the Serb can finally win his much-awaited 25th Grand Slam title.

Djokovic is preparing to participate in the 2026 US Open, with the men’s singles main draw beginning on August 30. There has been significant hype around Djokovic winning his 25th major and becoming the most decorated tennis player in history.

However, the 39-year-old has suffered one setback after another, having last won a Grand Slam in 2023 when he defeated Daniil Medvedev to secure his 24th major title.

As hopes for a 25th title gain traction once again, Federer has shared his thoughts on Djokovic’s chances of winning the tournament.

Federer throws his support behind Djokovic’s historic chase

Federer said that whenever Djokovic enters a tournament, there is always a chance of him winning the title.

“Whenever Novak enters any tournament or major, he’ll have a shot,” said Federer in a press conference. Federer said. I have very high regard for Novak. I’ve seen what he can do, not just once, not just here, but every place, at the highest level.

“As long as he is in the draw, there is a chance and I think that’s one of the reasons he’s still playing because he truly must believe he can still do it, and that’s my opinion too,” he concluded.

While Federer remains optimistic about Djokovic’s chances, the Serb’s fans will be hoping he can finally secure his long-awaited 25th Grand Slam title when he takes to the court at Flushing Meadows.
