There was no dearth of stars in the Cincinnati Open draw, with the likes of Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Mirra Andreeva, Amanda Anisimova, Alexandra Eala, and Marta Kostyuk joining Gauff and Pegula in the battle for the coveted WTA 1000 title.

No. 3 seed Pegula produced a stellar run on home soil, triumphing over Simona Waltert, Emma Navarro, Sorana Cîrstea, Anisimova, and Świątek to book a spot in the final. No. 4 seed Gauff also put together an impressive run, emerging victorious against Liudmila Samsonova, Ann Li, Marie Bouzková, Kostyuk, and Sára Bejlek.

In the final, Gauff made a strong start to the encounter by winning the opening set in dominant fashion. The 22-year-old also secured an early break in the second set and went on to claim a 6-2, 6-4 victory, clinching her first title of the season.

As the champion, Gauff is set to pocket $1,085,200, while the runner-up, Pegula, will take home $564,920. Meanwhile, Iga Świątek and Sára Bejlek, who fell short in the semifinals, earned $297,315 for their deep runs.

Madison Keys, Kostyuk, Anisimova, and Elena Rybakina pocketed $154,210 for reaching the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 event. Fourth-round exits for Aryna Sabalenka, Wang Xiyu, Bouzková, Andreeva, Linda Nosková, Cîrstea, Diane Parry, and Diana Shnaider saw each player receive $81,752 in prize money.

The players who lost in the third round, including Maria Sakkari, Navarro, Anna Kalinskaya, and Alexandra Eala, earned $47,375 for their campaigns. Belinda Bencic, Elise Mertens, and the other WTA stars who fell short in the second round pocketed $26,255. Meanwhile, $16,260 went to those who suffered first-round exits in Cincinnati.

With her impressive victory at the Cincinnati Open, Gauff earned 1,000 ranking points, while Pegula secured 650 points for her runner-up finish.
